Tributes to honour the memory of Juan Cruz Sol
Valencia CF will honour the memory of Juan Cruz Sol, the club legend, ambassador and member of Board of Directors who recently passed away, with a series of tributes.
At Mendizorroza, on the occasion of the match against Deportivo Alavés, the Valencia CF players will wear black armbands and a minute's silence will be observed. In addition to paying tribute to Sol, whose picture will be displayed on the stadium video scoreboard, the moment of reflection will also be observed to mark the International Day against Domestic Violence and the death of Tomás Juarros Viana, a Deportivo Alavés director in the 1960's.
On November 28th, Valencia CF will play Atletico Madrid in the first game at Mestalla since Sol's passing. Once again, a minute's silence will be observed and the Valencia CF players will wear black armbands.
The ‘Sala Juan Cruz Sol’ room will also be inaugurated at the stadium, and will be used for meetings and institutional events with other teams and groups. Located in the lower part of the VIP Box, in the place where Sol undertook his social and institutional work welcoming groups, supporters' clubs, institutions, associations, clubs, directors and more, it is a fitting tribute to him.
Valencia CF will also posthumously award Sol the club's Gold Insignia, with his relatives expected to accept it on his behalf.
